Cyprus Holiday Diary - Tombs Of The Kings, Paphos
<< Back To Polis, Cyprus <<
Tombs of the Kings Cyprus
We returned to Paphos around 2.30pm. We visited the Tombs Of The Kings, that are some caves dug in rocks, in Roman times.
Not so interesting, but we were curious to see what's about there.
By the way, you can't call a Cypriot, Greek, he will feel offended, he will answer immediately that he is a Cypriot !
After all that we went to the beach, we swam, I was feeling wonderful in the water. Then we went into Paphos town to have
our dinner. Our hotel is somewhere near the sea, near Paphos. As a matter of fact you can see a lot of little villages
all over.
Paphos Cyprus
After dinner we had a walk around. It is quite luxury. I had the feeling that we are somewhere in those luxurious
islands, like the Caribbean ...
The sea is so beautiful, so clear and blue ! You can see yourself completely in the water it is so clear !
I understood from Simon that during the season there are many tourists here, it is full. The truth is that there are a lot
also now. I heard Germans, Finnish, Russians, Polish ... and a lot of English of course !
We bought sun hats, to be prepared for the cruise to Egypt the next day ! I think that I'll sleep again without a move !
18.10.2010 - 20.10.2010 - Mediterranean Cruise and Egypt Tour
We went for the dinner at a restaurant in Paphos. We discovered a place called "Tea for Two", very nice one.
Typical English, with English meals and customs, I mean the way they served the tea, for example. And the
service was flawless. We were very pleased about everything there so we decided to come back the following day.
Then we walked around, seeing the shops, being curious to see the prices. I could see nice things. But I noticed
that the prices were really low in some shops and in others, the same things with high prices. I couldn't understand
why, how !? For example: a leather hand bag you could find it in some shops at a price of 15-20 euros in others at 25-30.
And really was identical the bag ! Simon tried to explain (and I think he was right, at least sounded logical) that when
they changed their currency to euros, the change were made almost at 1/1, meaning a big increase. Realising this, some of
them had prefered to be more reasonable, more close to reality.
Finally we returned to the hotel.
